Tired after a busy few days in Paris we had a quiet start to the week just going to the local playground and catching up on things at home. On Wednesday we had a visit from a lovely friend I worked with in London years ago and went for a walk and coffee in Syon Park.
On Friday we went into St Pauls Cathedral – it was really moving to be in this amazing building on Remembrance Day for the two minutes silence and short service. It was also interesting to see the large camp of protesters near the entrance to St Pauls.
Friday evening Mal’s parents and Carol arrived and we had a fun-packed weekend seeing the sights of London – Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden- going to the Lord Mayor’s parade and back to Hampton Court Palace.
On Monday we drove to Canterbury for the day and visited the amazing cathedral there before having a late pub lunch in a gorgeous little village…….the pub dated from the 16th century!
