On Monday the girls and I drove to Henley-on-Thames and then to Windsor before taking the hire car back.
Tuesday night I had dinner with Sandhia and it was just so lovely to catch up.
Wednesday night we celebrated Christmas with Mal’s sister….but no snow in sight with the mild weather were are having.
Thursday saw Carol, Ella, Lucy, Kate and I hit the Ice Rink at White City Shopping Centre which was heaps of fun and accompanied by lots of laughs. That night we went to Carols by Candlelight at St Paul’s which was beautiful.
On Friday afternoon we went to Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane and then met Mal after work at the British Museum.
On Saturday we went into town again and went to a book reading at Somerset House where we ran into a friend’s sister and her family holidaying from Australia….small world! And then to Belgo’s for dinner which was just as yummy and much fun as I remember it from years ago.
I got up early on Sunday morning and headed to Columbia Road Flower Market and then met everyone else at the British Museum again to look at more amazing treasures. After the museum we visited the Wallace Collection and then went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park for dinner. The girls and Mal went on a roller coaster ride and there was a power cut half way through so they were stuck in mid-air in darkness for a few minutes…..just as scary for the mothers standing below as those on the ride…..
